Project Love is a combined effort of almost every department of Seedtime and Harvest Church. Including, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, God Cares, Drama, Evangelism, and many others.
Annually, in the month of November, through this special project, we reach out to the needy and less fortunate families in San Diego and provide them with complete Thanksgiving dinner package.
Flyers go out several weeks in advance to the low income communities inviting them to come to Seedtime and Harvest Church. On the appointed day, our team goes in to action. First, we minister to their soul through a drama production. Once they have received from the Lord, an altar call is made and at this time several hundred will give their lives to Jesus. After we have ministered to them spiritually, we feed them physically. Each family will take home everything they need to make a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
During this event, over 3,000 individuals will turn out, and will provide Thanksgiving meals for over 600 families. Also, The San Diego Charger’s Cheerleaders have come out to assist us, many of the retailers of San Diego will donate portions of the meal package, and of course this event is always news worthy, so our local news
stations never fail to help spread the good news for us.
Local Community Outreach
Seedtime and Harvest reaches out to local neighborhoods door to door and by going into the community parks. Our park events are comprised of Music Concerts, Street Drama, Puppet Shows and Free Food. Once again, we minister to their soul and then provide a meal.
We found these types of events are very successful because everyone wants to eat (that is the attraction when we pass out the flyers), but before we let them eat, they first have to let us love them with the love of Jesus.
